Alliance Safety Council Headquarters
Citadel MCM Panels Selected For High-Tech Safety Training Center
The Alliance Safety Council in Baton Rouge, LA is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving safety in the workplace. Although initially providing services only in Louisiana, members have taken the organization to a broader market through nationwide safety programs. A new 32,000 sq. ft. headquarters helps the organization meet its goals both locally and beyond. Featured on the building’s exterior are metal composite material wall panels from Citadel Architectural Products.
The new headquarters serves as many as 7,000 students per month and includes training laboratories, technology-enhanced classrooms and administrative space. In planning for its new building ASC desired it to have visually commanding presence on the local interstate corridor while engaging the community through a combination of curvilinear forms, vertical elements and complementing materials.
Grace & Herbert Architects of Baton Rouge designed the building and used 10,000 sq. ft. of Citadel Envelope 2000® metal composite material (MCM) panels in combination with glass and concrete block to create a strong, contemporary look. The metal wall system was installed using Citadel’s Rain Screen (RS) attachment method.
Installation of the Citadel panels was done by Roofing Solutions, Prairieville, LA. “The greatest challenge was all of the radiuses and, of course, lining up the horizontals,” said the company. “But we have a lot of experience with the Citadel systems and the job went well. The rain screen system carries a good wind load rating. It’s a progressive system that’s good and solid. The building is going to be there for awhile.”
The Citadel representative was Mid South Specialty Products, Greenwell Springs, LA.
