Rail Delivery Services in Fontana, California now has a brand new, custom designed facility, built by Lord Constructors Inc., an American Buildings Company (ABC) Authorized Builder. The facility is designed to handle assembly, distribution, transloading and load securement for Rail Delivery Services’ clients.

With the new 26,250-square-foot complex designed by Lord Constructors, the Rail Delivery Services facility offers more than 100,000 square feet of modern warehouse and logistics space. The new facility boasts 2,856 square feet of two-story office space and 28 dock level overhead doors.

The entire facility features clear spans, 24-foot clearance and ESFR (early suppression, fast response) fire systems. The buildings also have 54 truck height doors and four drive-on doors. At capacity, the facility has parking space for 135 units measuring 53 feet each. The California-based intermodal trucking company moves freight, trailers and containers between railroads, ports, consignees and shippers.

For their work on the project, Lord Constructors was awarded first place in the 2014 ABC Excellence in Design Awards in the Office category. The ABC Excellence in Design Awards recognize Builders and Roofers for their innovation in design and metal systems construction.
