Lester Building Systems of Rochester, MN, produced the post-frame building systems and components used for the construction of the recently completed Leashes & Leads project in Byron, MN. Built by Prehn Building Sales Inc., an authorized Lester builder, the project was recently named the National Frame Builders Association’s 2009 Commercial Building of the Year (over 10,000 sq. ft.).

The building serves as a country store that carries pet food, pet supplies and offers obedience and agility training for dogs. It houses a canine bakery, grooming salon, a boarding kennel and pet resort. It was creating by combining three separate framing packages measuring 56’ x 60’, 100’ x 150’ and 72’ x 176’ respectively.

Among the building’s design features are six cupolas and a distinctive, copper-colored metal roof. Both the roof and Sierra White wall panels are Lester’s 29-gauge Uni-Rib profile.

The décor inside is warm and inviting and features a 30-foot knotty pine cathedral ceiling. The building is heated and cooled by geothermal and boasts a heated drive-through.

The building carries a lifetime structural design warranty from the builder, who helped the customer design a custom post-frame building with a lot of extras.
