The $530 million Red Hawk Casino in Placerville, CA features 2,000 slot machines, 75 table games, six restaurants, four bars and a gift shop. The 278,000-square-foot facility sits on a steep hill in the Sierra Nevada foothills 30 miles east of Sacramento. The casino was constructed to tell the story of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians and their heritage by incorporating key shapes, materials and textures into the design. The casino’s architecture is in harmony with tradition, nature and its surroundings.

CENTRIA’s Exposed Fastener Profiles—MR3-36 and Econolap ¾”—were selected primarily for their superior aesthetic value and versatility. By incorporating different panel profiles and using them both horizontally and diagonally, the architects were able to create an intricate design that provides a unique exterior effect. The V-shape patterns symbolize a “basket full of blessings,” speaking to the heritage of the Miwok Indians.

The Champagne Bronze and Champagne Pearl colors give the casino a contemporary look, while the use of MicroSeam Corners allowed the building team to achieve sleek, seamless corners.

In terms of performance, the Exposed Fastener Profiles provide excellent negative wind load properties and all-weather installation capabilities, providing easy and efficient installation.

The architect was Cuningham Group Architecture, P.A. of Minneapolis, MN. The CENTRIA products dealer was B.T. Mancini Co. of Sacramento, CA. The general contractor was Rudolph and Sletten, Inc. of Redwood City, CA.
