Wood-Grain ACM Finishes To Be Introduced By 3A Composites

Davidson, NC - Three new wood-grain finishes of Alucobond® naturAL aluminum composite material are available from 3A Composites USA. The new offerings are Beachwood, Chestnut and Rustic Walnut.

Alucobond naturAL is an aluminum composite material (ACM) that features finely textured aluminum surfaces. The new wood-grain finishes allow architects to combine the traditional look of wood with the benefits of ACM.

“Wood is a long-standing traditional construction material, and the natural look of wood grains in cladding remains a sought-after design,” said Ben Branham, marketing manager, 3A Composites USA. “Installing natural wood as building cladding, however, can pose a maintenance challenge as exposure to the elements causes wood to deteriorate. Durable Alucobond naturAL now allows architects to incorporate the beauty of wood grains in a lightweight aluminum composite material that is long-lasting and easy to maintain.”

Alucobond naturAL panels in the Beachwood, Chestnut and Rustic Walnut wood-grain finishes are available in 3mm, 4mm and 6mm thicknesses. The 4mm thickness can be ordered with the Alucobond Plus proprietary fire-retardant core.

The new wood-grain finishes will be introduced at the Alucobond booth during the Greenbuild 2016 International Conference and Expo, October 5-6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
