Fire-Retardant Gray Core Introduced For ALUCOBOND® PLUS

Davidson, NC - 3A Composites USA announces the launch of a new gray core for ALUCOBOND PLUS aluminum composite material (ACM). Effective October 17, 2022 the color of the product’s solid, fire-retardant (FR) core has been updated to gray from its original shade of white. This product design enhancement was achieved through modifications to the formulation that allows for greater design flexibility while maintaining the product’s fire performance rating.

“Our team of product engineers have managed to make the ACM panel that architects and fabricators have trusted for more than 50 years, even better,” said Nick Scheib, general manager, Architectural Division, 3A Composites Americas. “ALUCOBOND PLUS already offered superior versatility and fire safety, but by listening and responding to the architectural community, they’ve evolved the product to allow increased flexibility in design.”

ALUCOBOND PLUS, now with a gray core, is described as offering the following attributes...

It was noted that ALUCOBOND PLUS with gray core reduces visibility of the product’s core, allowing it to blend in, creating more opportunities to customize the façade of any building through perforated designs that allow natural light and enable enhanced aesthetic possibilities. In addition, the gray core provides a nearly seamless aesthetic with the use of ALUCOBOND EasyFix. By using the ALUCOBOND EasyFix system, installers are also better equipped to efficiently install ALUCOBOND PLUS panels, helping them to meet tight construction timelines with less labor.
