M.G. McGrath fabricated and installed the ALPOLIC aluminum composite wall panels featured on the exterior of the United Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. The building was designed by BWBR Architects of St. Paul, MN, with Knutson Construction of Minneapolis handling the general contracting duties.

To fabricate the 4mm-thick, Medium Bronze Metallic-finished composite material into flat panels for the projects walls, canopies and beams, the Maplewood, MN-based McGrath used a CNC router table. Some curved panels were also needed and for those, the fabricator used a process that enabled the material's polyethylene core material to be welded without causing damage to the exterior paint finish.

ALPOLIC aluminum composite material is a product of Mitsubishi Chemical FP America Inc., Chesapeake, VA.
