The 6,000 square-foot Action Wildlife Museum is located in Goshen, Connecticut. The museum showcases taxidermy animals from throughout the world displayed in their natural settings, including two natural waterfalls. In back of the museum, there is a large covered pavilion with picnic tables for guests to use and enjoy. The project was created with metal systems from Metallic Building Company.

This pre-engineered metal building features a 1:12 roof slope and utilizes Metallic Ultra-Dek roof panels. These panels provide optimal durability and weathertightness. They also feature an interlocking snap seam to support faster and easier installation and a more efficient erection process. Action Wildlife Museum uses a high efficiency HVAC and electrical system, R-30 roof insulation as well as low-volume plumbing features.

This project’s special features include R-10 Kalwall translucent daylighting to hold heat, allow daylight and filter out ultra violet rays. The builder was able to marry three buildings to an existing 60’ x 170’ x 22’ structure with a completely new fit-out that included a new elevator.

The project’s team included: RJB Contracting, Inc. (www.rjbcontracting.com), contractor, Torrington, Connecticut;  New England Steel Erectors of Litchfield, Connecticut, who served as the erector and roof contractor; Joseph Alicata of East Hartland, Connecticut, architect; and Metallic Building Company, metal building systems manufacturer, based in Houston, Texas.
