Products: RHEINZINK is the world’s leading brand of architectural-zinc for building applications. Generically known as “titanium-zinc”, RHEINZINK is a natural-weathering metal that forms a grey patina after repeated exposure to moisture and air. Combining 99% special high-grade zinc with approximately 1% titanium and copper for strength and malleability, the RHEINZINK alloy can help provide long-term solutions for roofs, wall/facade cladding and gutters. With little to no maintenance, durability and sustainability, RHEINZINK can last for generations.
RHEINZINK is currently the only manufacturer to derive its surface colors directly from the ALLOY. RHEINZINK prePATINA blue-grey and prePATINA graphite-grey are two different alloys leading to different colors. Other zinc manufacturers have an alloy with a surface treatment to give the appearance of a different color. The distinction of having two different alloys is very important due to the fact that zinc is a ‘self-healing’ material and if scratched, RHEINZINK will re-patinate after periods of wetting and drying cycles.
Since 1993, RHEINZINK has been used in North America on college and corporate campuses, libraries, cultural centers, and residential projects. RHEINZINK is recognized world-wide as a low-environmental impact metal of choice that is both beautiful and cost-effective.
Background: RHEINZINK was founded in 1966 by the Grillo, Stolberger Zink companies and the United German Metalworks; production began in 1969. The company is headquartered in Datteln, Germany, on the outskirts of the Ruhr district. As the first zinc titanium alloy manufacturer in Europe, RHEINZINK replaced the conventional pack-rolling process with a new innovative technology – a continuous broadband casting rolling line.
We take great pride in our customer support, providing technical assistance to both architects and installers alike. With distributors and system partners throughout North America and material stocked in several regions, material is readily available.
RHEINZINK is a leader among environmental manufacturers with its 100% recyclable and sustainable product.
Today, RHEINZINK is part of the Grillo conglomerate with offices in 33 countries and employs over 800 employees worldwide.
