The popularity of aluminum composite material abroad is reflected in its use on the Condominio Palma de Mallorca in Escuzu, Costa Rica. The building was designed by Ing. Manual Emilio Araya P. of Zapote, Costa Rica.
The 4mm-thick aluminum composite material selected for the project was ALPOLIC® ACM, manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical FP America Inc. of Chesapeake, VA. The .020” aluminum-skinned, polyethylene-cored material was provided with a factory-applied PPG Coraflon paint finish in a Silver Metallic color.
Handling the panel fabrication and installation, using a wet joint attachment system—was Materiales Compuestos de Aluminio ACM of San José, Costa Rica. INGHER S.A. of Zapote was the general contractor.
