Architect-Inspired Color Series Introduced By Sherwin-Williams

Minneapolis, MN – Sherwin-Williams unveiled a new architect-inspired color palette, Fluropon Architect Series, created by architects who attended the company’s “Color Mixology” event during the AIA Conference on Architecture 2019 in Las Vegas. The private event brought together hundreds of architects who helped to create 10 newly developed colors of Fluropon 70% PVDF architectural metal coatings.

Construction Input Prices Down In September, According To ABC

Washington, DC - Construction input prices fell 0.6% in September and are down 1.7% year-over-year, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index data released recently. Nonresidential construction input prices fell 0.7% for the month of September and are down 1.4% compared to the same time last year.

Construction Employment Continues Upward Trend In September

Arlington, VA - Construction employment increased by 7,000 jobs in September and by 156,000, or 2.1 percent, over the past 12 months, while the number of unemployed jobseekers with construction experience reached a record low for September, according to an analysis of new government data by the Associated General Contractors of America.

U.S. Steel Purchases 49.9% Interest In Big River Steel

Pittsburgh, PA – United States Steel Corporation announced on October 1 a joint venture partnership agreement under which it has taken the first step towards acquiring Big River Steel through the purchase of a 49.9% ownership interest at a purchase price of approximately $700 million in cash, with a call option to acquire the remaining 50.1% within the next four years.

Housing Starts In August Reach Highest Level Since 2007

Washington, DC - Led by a surge in multifamily production, total housing starts rose 12.3 percent in August 2019 to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.36 million units from an upwardly revised reading in July, according to a report from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development and Commerce Department. This is the highest level since May 2007.

Contractors Optimistic About Near-Term Nonresidential Construction
