It’s not hard to spot a Hummer. The same holds true for the showrooms where they’re sold. What makes the buildings so readily recognizable are their barrel vault metal roofs.

No single metal roofing manufacturer has cornered the market when it comes to supplying material for Hummer dealerships, but only high-quality systems are employed. In the case of D & D Hummer in Davenport, IA, it was an A1300 standing seam system from Englert Inc., Perth Amboy, NJ. The panels were rollformed at the jobsite and installed by East Moline Sheet Metal Co. of East Moline, IL.

A1300 is a structural standing seam profile featuring 1”-high seams. The panels used on the Davenport Hummer showroom were formed from 24-gauge Galvalume Plus-coated steel. Galvalume Plus is unpainted Galvalume with a special clear acrylic coating that gives the panels a uniformly gray appearance. Approximately 4,400 sq. ft. of the material was needed for the project.

The project architect was Vantage Point LLC of Cedar Rapids, IA. Estes Construction of Davenport was the general contractor.
