To provide an ideal learning environment for the pupils of Howells School in Cardiff, Wales, a striking new S-shaped school building, complete with a curvaceous Kalzip metal roof, proved to be the educated choice.

Designed by The Girl’s Day School Trust of England, the project utilizes almost 10,000 sq. ft. of tapered Kalzip 65/400. The stucco-embossed aluminum standing seam panels were installed by Teamkal contractor Kilobuild Ltd., also of England. The project’s main contractor was Stradform Ltd. of Wales.

In addition to the roofing, the project incorporates a range of Kalzip fabrications, included curved and corner flashings, and gutters and downspouts.

The spacious new building features eight classrooms and an art room, with an additional development, which also features a curved Kalzip standing seam roof. Housed in it are the school’s state-of-the-art ICT suite, library and music room.
