Cremona is characterized by its historic architecture. But the citizens of this northern Italian city also have high standards when it comes to contemporary buildings, as evidenced by the recently completed Cremona Po Shopping Mall. Designed by SDS of Milan, Italy, the structure's exterior is a combination of glass and metal in the form of horizontally installed TF37/800R Kalzip cladding. Nearly 100,000 sq. ft. of the thru-fastening ribbed panels—in both perforated and non-perforated versions—was utilized.

In addition to providing a virtually maintenance-free exterior, the metal provides a perfect platform for effective, colorful illumination in the evening. The glazed entrance area is emphasised by a tall protruding canopy supported on narrow columns. The retail space is occupied by international clothing companies, 65 smaller boutiques, 10 restaurants and bars, as well a large cinema, all accommodated over three floors. A parking garage inside the building provides spaces for 2,000 vehicles.
