In Charlton, MA, the Tree House Brewing Company believes deeply in long-term sustainability and contributing positively to society. It demonstrates those beliefs through responsible business practices and the implementation of cutting edge, environmentally friendly technological systems at its brewery. Case in point is the use of insulated metal panels from Norbec for the brewery’s exterior walls.
The inclusion of 36,000 sq. ft. of Norbec’s 3”-thick Norex-L panels provided superior insulation and energy efficiency for the brewery building. The charcoal gray exterior color of the polyisocyanurate-cored insulated metal panels (IMPs) gives the building a chic contemporary look in contrast to the wood architectural elements that were chosen for the natural quality. The combination of materials proved the perfect union between pure and industrial materials.
The Charcoal Gray, fluted exterior face sheets of the Norbec panels were formed from 22-gauge steel while the interior sides of the panels—also fluted—are 26-gauge steel with an Imperial White finish.
The project’s architect was Austin Design of Greenfield, MA. Handling the installation of the Norbec panels was Controlled Environmental Solution.
