In its design of Terminal A at Boston’s Logan International Airport, The New York office of HOK Architects specified 250,000 sq. ft. of 4mm-thick ALPOLIC® ACM (aluminum composite material).

Manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical FP America Inc. of Chesapeake, VA, ALPOLIC® material features face and liner sheets of .020”-thick aluminum bonded to a polyethylene core. For the Boston project, the material was provided with both Champaign Metallic Coraflon and Custom Mica, Silver Smith Metallic Lumiflon paint finishes, both by PPG Industries. The panels were fabricated for installation using a Rout & Return Dry Joint attachment system.
