Briggsdale Apartments provides permanent supportive rental apartments for disabled and homeless individuals. Developed, owned and operated by Community Housing Network, Inc. (CHN) this Ohio apartment project has 35 studio apartments, community space, a computer lab for residents, and offices for 24-hour staffing.

The building design was inspired by Briggs farm that once occupied the property. The building is designed to look like a barn that may have originally existed in the location. The metal vertical siding and roof are a central element to the barn look. The simple, large, gabled roof with the shed dormers also contributed to the look. The four cupolas completed the barn image. The curved stone wall represents the remnants of an attached stone silo. Finally, locating the building to the rear of the site behind the original house provides the perfect backdrop to stress the importance of keeping the house in the farm context.

The designer for the project was Urban Order Architects, Columbus, Ohio. The General Contractor was MCR Services, Columbus, Ohio. And the Roofing Contractor was Meade Roofing, Fredericktown, Ohio.

The project used nearly 18,000 sq. ft. of the MBCI LokSeam, a snap-together architectural standing seam roof system. Material was 24 gauge Galvalume, coated in the MBCI Signature 300 Series (PVDF) in Colonial Red. It also used nearly 18,000 sq. ft. of PBR panel on the exterior walls of the buildings. Material was 26 gauge Galvalume, coated with the MBCI Signature 200 Series (siliconized polyester), in Polar White. In addition, over 3100 sq. ft. of the MBCI Artisan L12 Series, a 12” wide liner panel, was used for soffit. Material was 24 gauge Galvalume, coated with the MBCI Signature 200 Series (siliconized polyester), in Polar White.
