When it comes to high school softball facilities, the complex at Corinth High School in Corinth, MS is hard to beat. In addition to a synthetic turf playing surface, the complex includes a pass-through admissions/ticket building with restrooms and concessions, an adjacent field house with locker rooms and a covered batting cage, a three-section aluminum grandstand, a two-story press box and sunken dugouts. Brick construction ties the various elements together, as does Englert Series 2000 standing seam roofing.

Pryor & Morrow Architects and Engineers, with offices in Columbus and Tupelo, MS, designed the facility. CIG Contractors, Inc. of Corinth handled the construction.

According to architect Charles Watson of Pryor & Morrow, the high school softball field is the only one in the Southeast with artificial turf and a stadium-like entrance and bleachers. It is the first field with artificial turf for high school softball or baseball in northeast Mississippi and is to eventually include an artificial surface baseball field as well.

The architect chose the 16"-wide Englert profile for longevity and durability. He noted the 15,884 square feet of forest green roofing was also consistent with the brick and metal roof design of school structures throughout the school district. API Sheet Metal of Covington, Tennessee installed the roofing at the complex.

Englert Inc. is headquartered in Perth Amboy, NJ.
