Due to aging materials and growth in church membership, Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Edneyville, NC, was remodeled and expanded in 2012 by Carolina Specialties Construction, LLC, an American Buildings Company (ABC) Authorized Builder.
Carolina Specialties Construction renovated the 6,300-square-foot church by using American Long Span III wall panels, chosen for their cost efficiency and ease of installment. The exterior features dark bronze Standing Seam 360 roof panels. All the panels used are SmartKote® “cool”-coated to reflect solar rays more effectively and reduce the amount of heat that is absorbed into the respective building, saving heating and cooling costs.
The church includes a new sanctuary that was built to replace a 100-year-old existing sanctuary. The majority of the structure is composed of pre-engineered steel with the exception of the steeple tower, which is made of conventional steel.
Headquartered in Hendersonville, NC, Carolina Specialties Construction was awarded first place for its work on the Mount Moriah Baptist Church, in the church/religious center category of the 2013 ABC Excellence in Design Awards competition. ABC’s Excellence in Design Awards recognize builders and roofers for their innovation and distinction in design.
