There's something decidedly European and unmistakably exotic about the design of the new Fox Vakanties headquarters. Given the structure is located in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands and is home to a Dutch company that specializes in booking exotic vacations, neither should come as a surprise. What might raise eyebrows is that the unique office building, clad in part with RHEINZINK prePATINA graphite-grey angled standing seam reveal panels, was actually designed by an architectural firm headquartered in the United States.

McDonough + Partners of Charlottesville, Virginia incorporated nearly 600 square meters of the RHEINZINK material into its design of the eye-catching building. The material was installed by Loodgietersbedrijf C.J. Ockeloen v.o.f., Amsterdam.

Fox Vakanties is located in Hoofddorp's Park 20/20. While Park 20/20 is the first of its kind Cradle to Cradle (C2C) commercial development in The Netherlands, Fox Vakanties is the first Park 20/20 development to achieve the BREEAM Excellent designation. BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment) provides an international standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure used to describe environmental performance of buildings and large scale developments throughout the world.

The sustainably-minded Fox Vankaties building embodies and celebrates diversity and culture, both locally and on a global scale. The structure's design is anchored by a Travel Theatre that features an undulating and sculptural folded fabric skin that becomes a glowing beacon at night. The zinc was used primarily on the upper building mass that houses offices and utilizes angles to self-shade on the south side. The RHEINZINK PrePATINA graphite-grey angled standing seam reveal panels, like all RHEINZINK roof, facades and drainage products, are C2C certified.
