M.G. McGrath showed its talents as both a fabricator and installer of metal construction products by virtue of its involvement in the building of the Rockpoint Church in Lake Elmo, MN. In addition to fabricating and installing the project’s aluminum composite wall panels, the Maplewood, MN, firm installed the project’s profiled metal wall panels, metal roof system, soffit panels and screen wall.

The church was designed by BWBR Architects of St. Paul, MN, with the Eden Prairie, MN office of JE Dunn Construction handling the general contracting duties. It was completed in December 2007.

For the project’s exterior walls M.G. McGrath fabricated 2,770 sq. ft. of 4mm-thick aluminum composite panels which it then installed using its proprietary MGM Composite caulk joint system. The Silver Metallic-finished material from which the panels were formed was Alucobond, a product of Alcan Composites USA, Mooresville, NC.

To go with those smooth-faced composite panels McGrath installed 11,795 sq. ft. of CENTRIA’s 22-gauge CS-660 profiled wall panels in a Custom Copper Brown color, and 13,040 sq. ft. of Firestone Building Products’ UNA-CLAD UC-3 standing seam roofing and soffit panels in a Silver Metallic color to match the composite panels.
