PPG Industrial Coatings Publishes New Exterior Building Products Brochure

Highlights Aluminum Extrusion Coatings For Windows, Doors, Siding, Decking, Railing

PPG_Building_Products_BrochurePittsburgh, PA - PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) industrial coatings business has published a new brochure detailing PPG’s full range of extrusion coatings for exterior building products. The coatings protect and beautify exterior building products made from wood, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), vinyl, wood, aluminum, fiber glass and composite materials, such as doors, window and door frames, siding, decking and railings.

The six-page brochure highlights several solvent- and water-based coating systems for wood, PVC, vinyl, fiber glass, aluminum and composite substrates.

Flexacron® solvent-based coating systems have provided decades of colorfastness and gloss retention for siding, doors, trim, gutters, downspouts and similar products on millions of homes and buildings. Aqualink® water-based coatings offer the same performance as Flexacron coatings in an advanced, low-bake formulation. They feature low-VOC (volatile organic compound) and NMP (N-Methylpyrrolidone)-free formulations and are available at price points to meet various American Architectural Metal Association (AAMA) and Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WMDA) standards.

Manufacturers seeking advanced coating systems that resist heat buildup can learn about Flexacron HR (heat-resistant) and Aqualink HR coatings. Both are made with infrared (IR)-reflective pigments that protect substrate materials from IR radiation, enabling building products to stay cooler and maintain a factory-finished appearance in any climate.

The brochure also details the Aquacron® water-based primer-and-topcoat system for metal doors. The system’s products have low VOC content and meet Steel Door Institute (SDI) specifications for blocking resistance and ultraviolet (UV) radiation and corrosion protection.

There also is information about Duranar® liquid and powder 70-percent fluoropolymer coatings for aluminum. Engineered to retain their original color and gloss in the most demanding weather and seacoast environments, Duranar coatings have been used for more than 40 years to protect metal curtain walls and other architectural components on countless buildings.

Other brochure-featured products for metal building components include Coraflon® 100-percent fluoropolymer coatings, which provide an extended range of gloss levels, color and metallic effects; and Acrynar® fluoropolymer, Duracron® acrylic, Polycron® polyester and Envirocron® coatings.

PPG exterior building product coatings offer architects and building product manufacturers a broad array of value, performance and appearance options, as well as the ability to meet AAMA 2605, 2604 and 2603 specifications. With regional headquarters in the U.S., South America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region, PPG has complete global customer support and manufacturing capabilities.
