NRCA Announces Fall Protection Class Schedule For 2015

Rosemont, IL — The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) has announced it will offer 12 classes of its successful Roofing Industry Fall Protection from A to Z course in 2015. The class is free of charge and for the first time, will include four classes taught in Spanish.

Roofing Industry Fall Protection from A to Z is a one-day class that provides updates on fall-protection systems and includes current Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, as well as state-plan requirements. It also features hands-on demonstrations and techniques for self-rescue and relief of suspension trauma.

Dates and locations for the classes are as follows:

Jan. 15 — Fairfax, Va. (English)
Jan. 16 — Fairfax, Va. (Spanish)
Jan. 29 — Chicago (English and Spanish)
March 11 — Kansas City, Mo. (English)
March 19 — Louisville, Ky. (English)
April 9 — Dallas (English and Spanish)
April 16 — San Jose, Calif. (English and Spanish)
April 28 — Providence, R.I. (English)
May 7 — Orlando, Fla. (English)

Roofing Industry Fall Protection from A to Z is funded through OSHA's Susan Harwood Training Grant Program, which provides grants to fund education and training for workers and employers to help them recognize workplace safety and health hazards, implement injury and illness prevention measures, and inform them of their rights and responsibilities. This year, OSHA awarded $10,687,000 in grants to 78 nonprofit organizations.
