Coatings Supplier Beckers Group Publishes New Sustainability Report

Berlin, Germany - Beckers Group, a leading supplier of coatings used on metal construction products and in other markets, announces that it has issued its new Sustainability Report. This is the group's third report and, as in previous years, it includes information about the company's highlights, product and process developments, global goals as well as local initiatives.

It also reports on the group's vision to be the most sustainable coatings company, to be an employer of choice and to be a sustainable solutions provider.

The new report details some of the company's social responsibility projects as well as how Beckers adheres to standards of transparent and ethical governance.

“Beckers has always viewed sustainability as one of its drivers for operational excellence and an opportunity to gain a competitive edge,” said Boris Gorella, CEO, Beckers Group.

The report fulfils the requirements of GRI, the Global Reporting Initiative (G3.1 Application Level C).

• Opening of a new plant in Indonesia.

The report also allows Beckers to review its sustainability initiatives and actions taken during 2014.

The company’s efforts have already led to numerous tangible improvements compared to 2013:

• Emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC ) have been reduced by 10%

• Greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 8%

• Waste generated was reduced by 6%

• Water consumption was reduced by 3%
