Schweiss Introduces Liftstrap Retrofit Kit For Cable-Operated Bifold Doors
|
Yellow liftstraps have been a standard feature on Schweiss Bifolds since their introduction. With the company's new Liftstrap Retrofit Conversion Kit, the straps can be combined with already installed bifolds from other manufacturers. |
Fairfax, MN - With its development of liftstraps and autolatches, Schweiss Doors revolutionized bifold door design. And now, the company is offering its faster, safer, quieter, longer-lasting liftstraps and autolatches for installation on bifold doors made by other companies as well. With the new Schweiss Doors Liftstrap Retrofit Conversion Kit, virtually any cable-raised bifold door can be upgraded to use Schweiss liftstraps and autolatches.
Schweiss' patented polyester liftstraps provide a safer alternative to steel cables. They're simpler too; no more cables or pulleys to adjust. Liftstraps also offer more lifting ability and are more durable than cables. The strength-to-weight ratio on the company's 3-inch straps are rated at 29,000 lbs. tensile strength, compared to a 1/4 inch cable with a 7,200 lb. rating.
The lift straps wrap around the lift drum as the door opens, increasing the size of the drum. The larger the drum’s circumference, the faster the door opens. The door opens slowly at first and quickly picks up speed. Schweiss liftstraps, never rust, never tangle or overwrap, and are warrantied for 10 years. They’re also available with autolatches and remotes.
“I would never have cables,” says one Schweiss customer. “Straps are the only way to fly — no noise, no creeps, no crunches. I’ve had them for 10 years and my straps don’t look any different than the day they were put in.”
