Chicago, IL – The Metal Construction Association (MCA) has announced the availability of a new white paper on insulated metal panels, this one dealing with air leakage and rainwater penetration. The paper, entitled Controlling Air and Rainwater Using Insulated Metal Panel Enclosure Systems, is available for free download on the MCA website at www.metalconstruction.org.

Insulated metal panels (IMPs) are one of only a few types of building products that can provide an entire building enclosure in one prefabricated product. However, despite their use for several decades in North America, there remains confusion about how IMPs manage rain water penetration, control air leakage, and act as continuous insulation. The newly published white paper seeks to clear up some of the misconceptions.
