Joe Edge Announces Retirement From Star Building Systems

Joe Edge

Oklahoma City, OK - After a long and distinguished career at Star Building Systems, Joe Edge recently announced his retirement. Edge was hired July 15, 1977 at Star’s Cedartown, GA manufacturing plant as a machine operator helper. Over the next 38 years, he compiled an impressive resume, learning the business from the ground floor up. During his tenure at Star, Edge held more than 14 different positions including Crane Operator, Customer Service Representative, District and Regional Sales Manager, VP of Sales, Executive VP and GM, President of Star and President of International Services.

Under his leadership as VP/GM and President, Star maintained a strong sales force and dramatically increased its builder base. Edge was instrumental in guiding Star through two major recessions, while gaining market share and remaining profitable during both.

Although Edge is retiring from his official capacities with Star, he will remain active as a liaison for Star’s International Sales.

Edge has been a tremendous ambassador for Star as well as a great leader and mentor to many Star employees during his impressive career.
