ATAS International Participates In 3rd Annual 'What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?' Student Video Contest

Allentown, PA - ATAS International Inc. was recently involved with the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” student video contest for the third consecutive year, along with the Manufacturers Resource Center and Dream It. Do It. Pennsylvania.

This video contest has successfully introduced hundreds of middle school students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors and school principals to what a career is like in advanced manufacturing. Eighth grade student teams from multiple school districts in the Lehigh Valley took a teacher and a GoPro camera kit into area manufacturing companies and created a two minute video that captured what they think is “cool” about their company’s products, workforce, and technology.

This contest was created to generate excitement that draws students towards manufacturing career paths. This year, there were 30 student teams partnered with 30 area manufacturers. The program promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and helps to foster a new understanding of opportunities in manufacturing careers.

Prior to the commencement of the video contest, the Manufacturers Resource Center and Dream It. Do It. Pennsylvania celebrated Manufacturing Day throughout the month of October to highlight the many benefits of Pennsylvania’s manufacturing industry to its students and residents. Over 600 high school students visited 13 manufacturers in the Lehigh Valley, including ATAS International.
