2016 Good Scout Award Presented To Dick Bus, President Of ATAS International Inc.

Allentown, PA - Dick Bus, president of ATAS International Inc., was honored recently with the Good Scout Award by the Boy Scouts of America Minsi Trails Council, Trexler District, at a breakfast held at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

ATAS International Inc. and Bus have been strong supporters of the local Boy Scouts of America District. He and his wife, Peg, resurrected a Boy Scout Troop in their local church, and Dick served as a scoutmaster for six years. He led several young men to become Eagle Scouts, including his son, Mark. Dick is also involved with inner city scouting and a local inner city elementary school, and is providing scholarship support to underprivileged students of immigrant parents.

Tony Iannelli, President and CEO of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, presented Bus with the Good Scout Award. Iannelli noted the exemplary and generous support of Scouting by Bus and ATAS, including the donation of metal roofing used on buildings at the local Boy Scout camp, and acting as a warehouse and distribution center for the popcorn and mulch Boy Scout fundraising campaigns.

In addition to his involvement in scouting, Bus has served on many committees within the Allentown Central Catholic High School, where his three children attended. His interests and concerns have led him to become a Da Vinci Science Center Trustee, a board member for the Manufacturers Resource Center, Lehigh Valley, and a very active supporter of education in the industry, community, and at ATAS. He has also served as President of the Metal Construction Association, and is currently the President of the Metal Roofing Alliance, of which he was also one of the founders.

When not traveling for the industry, Bus enjoys golfing and spending time with his family, especially with his nine grandchildren.
