VMZINC® Announces Latest Crop Of Archizinc Trophy Winners

Raleigh, NC – VMZINC®-US, the international brand name of rolled zinc products, announced the winners of the seventh edition Archizinc Trophy contest. The bi-annual contest, open to architects worldwide, highlights the use of VMZINC featured in a variety of sites, building typologies and architectural styles.

With more than 150 projects submitted from 18 different countries, the awards unite and acknowledge a broad range of cultures, building types and architectural styles using zinc. Prizes were awarded in four categories, including: Private Housing, Collective Housing, Public Buildings and Commercial Buildings. Three special prizes were also awarded, including the Sustainable Building Award, Internet Users Award and the Jury’s Special Award.

An International Jury of nine leading architecture professionals including chairperson Nicola Leonardi Dall’Occa Dell’Orso, editor-in-chief of Italian architecture magazine, The Plan, carefully assessed all projects. Members were appointed for their reputable quality of work and their in-depth knowledge of architecture. Archizinc Trophy winners were chosen based on the architectural originality of projects, innovation in the use of zinc, respect of the environment and functionality.

Winners were announced at an awards ceremony held at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris, France on June 10. Later this year, each winning architect will be showcased in a special issue of VMZINC®'s architecture magazine, “FOCUS ON ZINC”. With 50,000 copies published and distributed in approximately 30 countries, this publication will give the architects an opportunity to promote their projects internationally.
