Cold-Formed Steel Framing Resources Available On New Site

Pittsburgh, PA - BuildSteel, a new collaboration of steel and construction industry organizations, provides educational resources for building professionals on the uses and benefits of cold-formed steel framing.

The www.buildsteel.org website serves as an educational center, continuously updated with new content and examples showing how steel framing can be used to meet the growing demands placed on building today’s low- and mid-rise structures.

It was noted that building owners, architects, contractors and engineers may not fully understand all of the design, economic, and sustainable benefits provided by cold-formed steel. The BuildSteel site is designed to fill that gap by providing a wide variety of tools and best practices for all stakeholders. Lightweight, strong, noncombustible and easy to install, cold-formed steel has long been a preferred material for framing in low- and mid-rise buildings.

“Cold-formed steel framing will help building professionals meet their project goals across the board in categories like design, safety, and sustainability,” said Dan Snyder, director of BuildSteel. “BuildSteel was launched to provide a centralized source to find personalized content that can help a project move forward efficiently and effectively.”

Blogs and articles from industry leaders, case studies, infographics, research and more are focused on helping building professionals overcome construction obstacles with cold-formed steel. Content covers topics to assist professionals of all experience levels from those beginning their first cold-formed steel-framed project to seasoned professionals looking for information on updated building practices. Site visitors receive custom content relevant to their interests, job function, experience level and current projects.

In addition, BuildSteel offers complimentary assistance for construction projects utilizing cold-formed steel framing in the United States and Canada. Building professionals with specific questions related to cold-formed steel framing can complete an online form with project details, and receive project-specific assistance from the BuildSteel team, consisting of experts from its strong partner alliance within the steel and construction industries.

“Our team has decades of experience working with cold-formed steel framing from a wide variety of specialties within the construction industry,” said Snyder. “If building professionals need assistance, there is someone on our team who has been in their position and can provide them with the right information or resources to complete their project.”
