MillerClapperton Introduces MCMSpecwriter Website
Austell, Georgia – The Miller-Clapperton Partnership, Inc. (MillerClapperton) has announced the launch of mcmspecwriter.com, a website dedicated to assist with the creation of an accurate and easy‑to‑understand metal composite material (MCM) specification.
The main feature of the website is a specification generator that allows the user to “BUILD A SPEC” in three simple steps. Step 1 – Select Your Desired Attachment System. Step 2 – Select Your Desired Color/Finish Combination. Step 3 – Enter The Project Information.
The website also offers advice on how to build an effective specification, and it provides other tips for designing MCM panels on the “TIPS” page of the website. On the “RESOURCES” page, industry accepted Technical Bulletins and White Papers can be utilized in addition to the product brochures and color charts for the four domestically produced MCM manufacturers: Alpolic manufactured by Mitsubishi Plastics Composite America, Alucobond manufactured by 3A Composites, larson manufactured by Alucoil North America, and Reynobond manufactured by Arconic Architectural Products.
MillerClapperton’s goal for mcmspecwriter.com is for architects, designers, and specification writers to utilize the website as a go-to resource for each of their projects that feature MCM panels. MillerClapperton’s vice president and salesman, Zane S. Miller, commented, “Our industry is littered with old, irrelevant, and inaccurate specifications that are recycled time and time again. Sometimes there are projects with specifications that are completely unedited.” Miller continued, “It is our hope that with mcmspecwriter.com we are able to help bring awareness to those problems that plague our industry and provide an easy way to help clean up the specifications.”
The benefits of the website are not exclusive to the design community; “We encourage general contractors to visit the website as well so they can educate themselves on how to properly analyze proposals from the MCM subcontractors on bid day,” said Zeke Miller, president and national sales manager of MillerClapperton. “The benefits do not have to stop there either; our competitors, other fabricators, and installers of MCM panels can also visit the website to see if there is anything that they may not be aware of in regards to codes or information that pertain to the product.”
