Beckers Introduces New Universal Primer For Use With Variety Of Coatings

Elk Grove Village, IL - In today’s age of right-on-time production and reduced inventory, many people are beginning to find it troublesome to hold multiple Stock Keeping Units (SKU’s) when one will suffice. Beckers, a leading supplier of coil coatings, addresses this issue with the launch of its universal primer.

Beckers’ high solids primer provides extended coverage to replace multiple primers under polyesters, urethanes, PVDFs, and more, reducing the number of SKUs a customer carries. This frees up capital and eases strain on inventory management systems.

Beckers’ universal primer offers improved corrosion protection, increased opacity which protects topcoats from altering if the substrate changes, improved Total Solar Reflectance (TSR) values for darker substrates, and solid direct-to-metal adhesion. With higher solids, the primer offers more coverage and reduced Lower Explosion Limits (LEL) at the coater. This product allows for line speeds up to 700 ft./min.* which further reduces costs to the customer.

Rather than having numerous line changes and clean-up, switching from one primer to another, with Beckers’ universal primer, there is no need to change over when moving from a superdurable polyester to a urethane or PVDF.
