ABC Announces Winners Of Safety, Environmental And Wellness Poster Contest
Eufaula, AL - American Buildings Company (ABC) has announced the winners of its south division’s Inaugural Safety, Environmental, and Wellness Poster contest for 2017. Aligning with their mission of always maintaining a high level of safety, the contest was developed as an opportunity to get children involved and thinking about what safety, environmental and wellness culture mean to them.
Through different efforts, ABC has set forth to “bring safety home”. As an organization seriously dedicated to eliminating injuries in the workplace, ABC implemented a safety poster contest asking children to illustrate what safety means to them in hopes of encouraging early adoption of these safety practices.
“We wanted to create conversations in the homes of our team members about the importance of safety, taking care of our environment and taking care of our health.”, said Destin Norris, Environmental Coordinator at ABC. “What better time for them to learn than when they are young, and impressions are everlasting?”
Thirty-three children from ABC teammates’ families ranging from pre-k age to 8th grade, submitted their own designs on one of the applicable topics depicting what it means to them for their parents to practice work safety.
Twelve of the participants were recognized in each category with first, second, third and honorable mentions. The winners of the first, second, and third place awards were presented with $30, $20 and $10 Walmart gift cards respectively.
