PPG To Feature Duranar® MXL And Coraflon® MXL Coatings At METALCON 2018

New Coatings Formulated With Special-Effect Pigments Add Three-Dimensional Sparkle

Pittsburgh, PA - PPG (NYSE:PPG) announces that it will display several new and recently introduced architectural metal coatings at METALCON 2018 at the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina, October 10-12.

PPG will be showcasing PPG Duranar® MXL and PPG Coraflon® MXL coatings, two new polychromatic formulations engineered to add heightened dimensions of brilliance and luster to metal-clad buildings. Developed in response to increased architect demand for a wider selection of metallic and colorful coatings, Duranar MXL and Coraflon MXL coatings are infused with best-in-class special effects adapted from PPG’s automotive OEM coatings. The result is a three-dimensional aesthetic that shifts subtly in color and offers a highly reflective sparkle in direct sunlight.

PPG Durabrite® coatings are robust direct-to-metal coatings specially formulated to extend and enrich the beauty of architectural metals by protecting them with a resilient, transparent clearcoat.

PPG Duraform® wrinkle-texture coatings are the newest addition to the Duraform BP (building products) family of coatings. They feature a unique finish that significantly increases abrasion resistance compared to standard polyester coatings, while adding a sparkle effect that enhances the texture of the surrounding materials.

In addition to new products, PPG will showcase its full range of traditional Duranar, Duranar ULTRA-Cool® and Duranar VARI-Cool® coatings.
