Sheet Metal Supply Employees Pitch In To Help Feed Needy Children

These Sheet Metal Supply Ltd. employees and family members packed 12,312 meals during their two-hour shift; enough to feed 33 children for a whole year.

Mundelein, IL - On Wednesday, February 6, Sheet Metal Supply Ltd. staff, along with their families, volunteered to hand-pack vitamin-fortified meals for Feed My Starving Children.

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit that provides nutritionally complete MannaPack™ meals, specifically formulated for malnourished children around the world. It hosts hand-packing events throughout the year at locations across the nation. The Sheet Metal Supply staff packed at an event held in Libertyville, IL.

The Sheet Metal Supply contingent packed 57 boxes during their two-hour shift. In those boxes were 12,312 meals; enough to feed 33 children for an entire year.

SMS Vice President Ben Kweton, who volunteered along with his two school-aged children, described the event as both fun and rewarding. “Hair nets were donned, sleeves rolled up and through smiles & laughter, our employees and families came together for the greater good,” he said.

Kweton was not the only SMS volunteer to find the experience enjoyable. By the end of the shift, many of the participants were already asking, “When can we all do this again?”
