MBCEA Reaches 500 Members, Names New Directors

Bethlehem, PA - The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) announces that it reached the milestone of 500 members in December 2019. Membership in MBCEA, which was founded in 1968, consists of metal building and roofing contractors and erectors, and industry representatives that provide products or services and their regional representatives. The group also has added four new members to its board of directors.

“When I came on as MBCEA President in May 2018, I set a goal of reaching 500 members before the end of the decade,” said Keith Wentworth, who stepped down as president at the end of 2019. “I am excited to say we reached that objective with just a couple of weeks to go. This effort really started in 2012 when then-President Gary Smith got the ball rolling with a focus on expanding membership, and I am proud to leave the association in such a great position.”

MBCEA members come from every segment of the metal building industry and the association provides programs and services to the contractor and erector segments. These include the Metal Buildings Institute (MBI) Quality and Craftsmanship Training Series and the IAS Accreditation Program, AC478. In addition to the national organization, there are New England, Mid-Atlantic, Carolinas, Southeast, Greater Ohio, Midwest, Southeast Texas, Rocky Mountain, Northwest and California regional chapters.

“I would like to thank all the manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and erectors who have spread the word about MBCEA membership,” added Sasha Demyan, MBCEA Executive Director. “By allowing us to participate in builders' meetings, increasing member benefits with training and education at the local level and participating in MBCEA functions, all of these companies and people helped us to meet our goal of 500 members.”

MBCEA's new board members are: Justin Beall of DD Construction, Lakewood, CO; Bryan Hargett of Paramount Metal Systems, Little Rock, AR; Jared Knott of King Construction & Overhead Door Inc., Iowa Falls, IA; and John Paul Lawrence of Modern Trade Communications, Skokie, IL.
