Miami-Dade E-Permitting Now Offered For Metal Roofs

miami-dade-metal-roof-epermittingMiami, FL - The Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) Construction, Permitting & Building Code Division announces that a new ePermitting System application for Metal Roof Panels (Category 96), is available for use by licensed roofing contractors.

This latest expansion of RER's proprietary ePermitting system (http://www.miamidade.gov/permits/e-permitting.asp), allows the issuance of Category 96 permits online via the department’s website.

RER’s ePermitting system is designed to provide superior customer service, by using advanced web-based technology. ePermitting allows contractors to apply for permits from a secure website, which can only be accessed by a password created by the system user. Metal Roof Panel online forms are available to be completed and submitted electronically by the applicant. These forms are reviewed and approved programmatically if valid permit and jobsite data is entered into them. Permit fees are paid for online by using a credit card or e-Check. The permit card and job site documents will be available to be printed by the applicant from the department’s Print Permit Menu once the application has been approved and paid for.

The ePermitting system is a proven and stable platform, which has been successfully used by contractors since 2004. The availability of “distance permitting” allowing industry to obtain permits remotely, is described as "invaluable considering the urgent need to eliminate in-person gatherings due to the current global COVID-19 Pandemic."
