Sherwin-Williams Offering Continuing Education Webinar On Coating Selection February 4

Minneapolis, MN - On Monday, February 4 at 1 PM EDT, Sherwin-Williams will present an online Continuing Education webinar titled "Achieving Green Building Standards with Sustainable Metal Coatings." The course is designed to give attendees the knowledge and inspiration needed to select the right coating technologies to meet LEED, LBC and other independent design declaration program standards. It provides the following educational unit credits: 1 AIA LU/HSW, 1 GBCI and 1 IDCEC.

The course presenter is Kara Baldev, Associate AIA. She’s the North American Architectural Manager for Sherwin-Williams Coil Coatings, based out of Chicago, IL. After completing her degree in architecture, she found her niche in the building materials industry, and for the past 15 years has worked with several large multi-national companies. She’s spent the last six years in the coatings industry.

Achieving Green Building Standards with Sustainable Metal Coatings will help attendees:

•  Understand factory-applied coil and extrusion coating types and coating application methods.
•  Review how to achieve green building standards through design and the implementation of the LBC, LEED, and Independent Design Declaration Programs.
•  Learn how solar-reflective metal coatings improve energy efficiency and help mitigate the urban heat island effect.
•  Examine the differences between Living Building Challenge, LEED v4.1 and Independent Design Declaration Programs with regard to metal coatings.
