MBCEA And MBI Receive Grants From Ketenbrink Education Foundation

Bethlehem, PA - The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) and the Metal Buildings Institute (MBI) have been named recipients of grants from the Ketenbrink Education Foundation (KEF).

Funds received by MBCEA will be used to assist in the development of training videos for metal building erection. Funds received by MBI will be used to update and refresh the MBI’s signature Quality and Craftsmanship Video series; these videos were created for use in the training and development of metal building assemblers and debuted in 2001.

The KEF is the legacy of Bob and Bev Ketenbrink. Its stated goal is to assist in improving the quality of metal building construction and the training available in the metal building industry.

Bob Ketenbrink once famously said: "The most important thing in the metal construction industry today is the training that is needed to safely and correctly install the material so the end user gets the best quality for his investment."

Both MBCEA and MBI are excited to continue the Ketenbrink legacy and develop critical training materials for industry.

Art Hance, President of MBCEA, commented, “Bob and Bev knew long before there was a labor shortage that well-trained craftsmen were vital for the success of the industry. Their legacy, which will be used to update our videos, will play a part in training craftsmen for years to come.”

Tim Seyler, President of MBI, said, “The Quality and Craftsmanship series has been used to train thousands of young erectors. It is the only training program of its kind – developed by erectors for erectors. We thank the KEF for investing in necessary updates so we can continue to train tomorrow’s workforce today.”
