NCCA’s Education Course On Prepainted Metals Garners Two Awards

Cleveland, OH – The continuing education course titled, “Creative Building Solutions with Prepainted Metal Panels”, developed jointly by the National Coil Coating Association (NCCA) and the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA), recently received a pair of awards from the course’s platform host, Architectural Record magazine.

Each year, Architectural Record recognizes User Engagement Awards for organizations that achieve quantifiable excellence in engaging the architectural community through continuing education courses and online advertising. The Prepainted Metal Panels course won Most Leads: Single-Sponsored Award, and Fastest Moving: Single-Sponsored Award. “Most Leads" are those who completed the online course and “Fastest Moving” is defined as the most test-takers who took the course in the first month it was live than any other course that was launched in 2020.

Over 1,400 architects took the NCCA/MBMA education course since its release in December, 2020. AIA members who completed the course received one learning unit credit. The American Institute of Building Design, the International Association for Continuing Education and Training and multiple Canadian architectural associations also offered learning credits for this course.

“NCCA is honored to be the recipient of two excellence awards,” said Derek Deakins, chair of NCCA’s Marketing Committee. “The awards demonstrate the success of the collaboration between NCCA and MBMA in creating an education course that covered a topic that is pertinent to the architectural community.”

The course introduces the learner to the manufacturing process for prepainted metal and the difference between it and post-production painted metal. Prepainted metal, also referred to as coil-coated metal, is commonly used on the exteriors of all types of residential, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings.
