Bradbury Group Hosts High School Students As Part Of Manufacturing Month Celebration

Moundridge, KS – On October 14, the Bradbury Group celebrated Manufacturing Month by opening its doors to hundreds of area high schoolers and technical school students to tour its facilities and learn about a many manufacturing career opportunities available with the company. The students represented 13 local schools and Bradbury’s two technical school partners.

The annual event was the largest so far for Bradbury and gave participants an inside look at the advanced technology used by the company on a daily basis. In addition to the full facilities tour, students had a chance to compete in hands-on skill challenges and explore Bradbury’s Career Center booths.

The tours were guided by Bradbury employees who explained the company’s manufacturing progression from concept engineering design, fabrication, assembly, and testing. Students were able to view the fabrication shop, which houses approximately 60 CNC machines, where employees fabricate the major components required for the construction of Bradbury equipment.

The company’s Doosan lathe, which holds parts from 200” long to 30” in diameter, the induction heat treat center, the robotic welding cell and the high-definition plasma torch were all highlights. Tour groups walked through the assembly area to observe the assembly of Bradbury custom-made machines and watched several roll forming lines running formed products.
