Chicago, IL – The Metal Construction Association (MCA) presented its annual Patrick R. Bush Service Award to Miguel Peña and its Larry A. Swaney Award to Dale Nelson in appreciation for their service to the association and the metal construction
industry. The awards were given January 25 during MCA's Winter Meeting which was held at the McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The Patrick R. Bush Award recognizes an MCA member who has made significant volunteer contributions to the Metal Construction Association. It was established to honor Pat Bush, an influential long-time MCA board member.
This year’s recipient, Miguel Peña, was honored for his work related to METALCON, the metal industry’s largest event. In his responsibilities with GSSI Sealants, Peña oversees everything from sales and marketing to product development
and purchasing. In addition to those responsibilities, Peña is an important MCA leader, volunteering his time and expertise in business management, accounting, and marketing to the association. His efforts as METALCON Liaison Committee Chair
have ensured the continued success of METALCON and the METALCONLive! webinar series.
“Thanks to Miguel, MCA and METALCON have someone incredibly talented on our side,” said James Bush, MCA’s executive committee chairman. “Beyond that, Miguel brings an undeniable passion for our association and industry. He has
been tireless in ensuring our success during an unprecedented time. This recognition is well deserved!”

Named for one of MCA’s founders and its first president, the Larry A. Swaney Award is bestowed upon outstanding industry professionals for their contributions to the success of the association and the betterment of the metal construction industry.
This year’s honoree, Dale Nelson, is the president of Roof Hugger. He first took on a leadership role with MCA 13 years ago when he became the METALCON Liaison Committee Chair. He has served on MCA’s Board of Directors, as Treasurer
and Chair of the Finance/Audit Committee, and, in 2016, was elected to MCA’s top leadership position, Chairman of the Board. Since stepping down from that role, Nelson has continued to serve as an advisor and mentor to succeeding MCA officers
and even briefly rejoined the board as the Program Committee Chair.
“Dale’s industry knowledge is second to none. He helps keep MCA on the cutting edge and is continually building new relationships. Dale understands the importance of MCA and has been an invaluable advocate for the entire industry,” said
Bush.
