CFSEI Accepting Entries For 2023 Awards Program
Washington, DC - The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) is accepting entries through February 24, 2023 for its annual awards program, which acknowledges outstanding achievement in creative design, technical innovation, and best practices
in the use of cold-formed steel and recognizes individuals who have volunteered significant time and talent to the cold-formed steel industry.
The 2023 CFSEI awards will be presented in three categories: Design Excellence, Creative Detail, and the John P. Matsen Award for Distinguished Service. Winners will be announced at the 2023 CFSEI Expo.
The 2023 CFSEI Awards Program is seeking entries in these categories:
Category 1 – Design Excellence: The award recognizes projects that exemplify excellence in the structural design of new or renovated structures utilizing cold-formed steel products for exterior or interior applications. Entries will be judged
on demonstrated excellence and achievement in the use of cold-formed steel based on design creativity, technical innovation and overall project excellence in cold-formed steel utilization. Awards may be given in multiple categories at the discretion
of the Awards Committee, depending on the total number of projects submitted.
Category 2 - Creative Detail: This award recognizes any exterior or interior cold-formed steel framing detail, assembly or framing element that exemplifies creativity or ingenuity to solve a design challenge. Awards may be given in multiple categories
at the discretion of the Awards Committee, depending on the total number of entries submitted.
Category 3 – John P. Matsen Award for Distinguished Service: The award recognizes the contributions of an individual who has volunteered their time, talent and resources to the cold-formed steel industry. It will be given at the discretion
of the CFSEI Executive Committee to a nominee who exhibits exceptional qualifications in meeting the award judging criteria while maintaining the high standards set by previous winners. One award will be presented.
