Metal Construction Industry Mourns Passing Of Scott Kriner

It is with great sadness that we at DesignandBuildwithMetal share news of the passing of Scott A. Kriner of Macungie, PA. Scott was known throughout the Metal Construction Industry for his intellect, his wit and his mastery of complex topics pertaining to metal. Scott founded Green Metal Consulting in 2009 and operated the company until 2020. He was formerly a technical consultant for the Metal Construction Association and a columnist for this website, contributing dozens of articles on various environmental topics. Below is Scott's obituary.       

Scott-Kriner

Scott A. Kriner, 63, of Macungie, died Thursday, January 26, 2023 at South Mountain Memory Care, Emmaus. He was the husband of Natalie R. “Lee Ann” (Ryba) Kriner to whom he was married 36 years. Born in Allentown, September 13, 1959, Scott was the son of Robert A. Kriner of Allentown and the late LaRue V. (Ritter) Kriner. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering and a Masters of Engineering both from Lehigh University. Scott owned Green Metal Consulting LLC in Macungie from 2009 – 2020. Prior to that, he was a technical consultant for the Metal Construction Association and the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. Active in the life of his church, Scott was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown, serving two terms as President of the Consistory and Festival Committee Chairman for 20 years. Scott was a hardworking, loyal and caring man with a great sense of humor. He always put his family first. He has left a positive impact on everyone he had the pleasure of knowing. His dedication to raising funds to fight this terrible disease is beyond admirable. Scott was an amazing musician. He enjoyed playing drums, and especially the marimba. Scott was a lifelong fan of The Three Stooges and always entertained those who had the pleasure of his company with his large repertoire of jokes. His laughter and contagious smile will be missed be all.  

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife and father; sons, Matthew S. Kriner (Alyson) of Center Valley, Andrew J. Kriner (Allyssa) of South Carolina; sister, Kelly S. Moneymaker (Steven) of Orefield; grandchildren, Owen Matthew Kriner, Gavin Scott Kriner, Mia LaRue Kriner; nephew, Nathaniel S. Moneymaker; niece, Stephanie S. Moneymaker.

Service:  Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2023 at Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, Allentown with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating.  Family and friends may pay their respects from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2023 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville and 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. in the church parlor prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service at Jordan U.C.C. Cemetery, Allentown.  Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
