Laurel, MT - Wood's Powr-Grip Inc. (WPG), a leading manufacturer / supplier of vacuum lifting equipment for metal panels and other materials, showcases the use of its newest cladding lifter - the MTEX - as it was utilized recently in downtown Bozeman, MT to install fire-rated insulated metal panels (IMPs).

Apex Steel, Inc. - Apex Tower Crane, Inc. - Apex Steel Montana, Inc., along with the team at Mountain Crane Service, used MTEX on The National Building, which was originally built in the 1920s and is now owned by US Bank.

Kingspan Insulated Panels North America supplied 47' long x 42" wide x 6” thick fire-rated IMPs for the project. The panels have an Azteco Embossed finish and weigh 1,020 lbs. per panel.

The architect was Intrinsik Architecture Inc., the general contractor was Langlas & Associates, the erector was Apex Steel MT, and the crane company was Mountain Crane.

The MTEX cladding lifter by WPG is an excellent solution for heavier, fire-rated insulated metal panels. It features tool-free reconfiguration for vertical or horizontal panel projects, an option for handling roof panels up to 50 feet long, and adjustable arms and pad mounts to conform to the widest variety of panel profiles.

The MTEX cladding lifter is available with Intelli-Grip® Technology, automatically monitoring vacuum and power systems to maximize safety and efficiency while simplifying maintenance and repairs.
