Clopay® Contest Winner Receives Project Model Rendered From LEGO® Bricks

Mason, OH – At the 2023 AIA Conference on Architecture (A'23) in San Francisco, the Clopay® Corporation hosted Bricks ’n’ Lagers, a happy hour event that offered participants an opportunity to show their creativity building with LEGO bricks while enjoying complimentary beverages. A drawing held in conjunction with the event allowed one lucky attendee to win a special LEGO brick replica of one of their own architectural projects, to be created by LEGO brick artist Benjamin Radell. In August of last year, Michigan-based architect Michael Poris was selected as the winner and on February 14, he was presented with his model. 

Poris is a founding partner of Michigan-based McIntosh Poris Architects. The firm is nationally recognized for its residential, commercial, and institutional architecture and interior design work throughout Metro Detroit and has received more than 160 design awards. Poris' LEGO replica is modeled after a Midcentury Modern-inspired, 4,700-square-foot residence in West Bloomfield, Michigan, designed by the firm and completed in January 2023. Radell presented the prize to Poris in front of the home.

It was fun participating in Clopay’s Bricks ‘n’ Lagers event at the 2023 AIA Convention,” said Poris. “Legos are a memorable part of my childhood, so it was really rewarding to see my work represented in a Lego model.”
