MRA Names Florida Multi-Residential Project As Quarterly Roofing Contest Winner
A beautiful new metal roof from Worthouse, Inc. is the winner of MRA’s Best Residential Metal Roofing competition for the second quarter of 2024
Portland, OR — The Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA) has selected
an outstanding multi-family residential re-roofing project in Florida as its Best Residential Metal Roofing Project competition winner for the second quarter of 2024.
Located in Cape Coral, award-winning metal roofing company Worthouse and installer Catalyst Roofing, a certified Worthouse Installation Company, replaced a severely damaged concrete tile roof on the 22,000 square-foot condominium in just four days. This is the second time Worthouse has earned top honors
in MRA’s Best Metal Roofing Project competition, having received an award for a single-family residential project located in Ocala, Florida in 2022.
This time, the challenge was massive given the sheer size of the project and the client’s need for greatly improved hurricane protection. After weighing a variety of roofing material options, the building’s HOA board decided to go with metal
to replace the old roof, given this metal roofing’s ability to withstand up to 200 mph wind speeds and major hail and flying debris impacts. Metal roofing also is much lighter and stronger; which means it will protect the overall structural
integrity and longevity of the building and unlike the old concrete roof, it won’t crack, break or leak. Plus, the new metal roof looks beautiful, which tipped the scales for HOA decision-makers when evaluating options for roof replacements
that would not only last for a very long time but add tremendous low maintenance curb appeal as well.
“This is the first multi-family project to receive top honors in our competition and for good reason: It exemplifies all of the major benefits of metal roofs on an even bigger scale,” said Renee Ramey, MRA executive director. “This project
shows that when communities take pride and consider the long-term repercussions of their re-roofing decisions, metal is definitely the smartest investment.”
Other benefits of the new metal roof include increased energy efficiency, better ventilation, enhanced sustainability and long-lasting low maintenance protection against the region’s climate conditions. The new roof is a stunning classic-shaped
modular panel design called “Supre” in a striking Canyon Red color. The experts at Worthouse were able to meet serious time constraints mandated by the building’s insurance carrier, installing the durable new metal roofing system
weeks before the required deadline.
“The choice of our material was further solidified by the promise of durability, underscored by a warranty of up to 50 years—a pivotal factor in the client's decision-making process,” said Garrett Swank of Worthouse, Inc. “This
project not only demonstrates superior engineering and efficiency but also highlights the transformative impact of modern roofing technology in large-scale applications.”
