Second Project Chosen To Receive MRA's Quarterly Residential Metal Roofing Award

Metal Roofing named winner of MRA’s Best Residential Metal Roofing
Project competition for the second quarter of 2024
Portland, OR — Following an announcement in early August that a Florida multi-residential family project had been named the Metal Roofing Alliance's (MRA) Best Residential Metal Roofing project of Q2, 2024, MRA has announced a second winner as well: a striking reroofing project located in Banks, OR. Receiving the award was Mountaintop Metal Roofing, the Vancouver, WA-based metal roofing installer.
The project, located in Banks, Ore., demonstrates the beauty and curb appeal creativity that can be achieved with today’s quality metal roofing. The homeowners chose to install a stunning combination of metal shingles and standing seam panels to
draw attention to the home’s beautiful architecture and offset a unique two-toned exterior paint palette.
The new roof also upped the ante on performance for the 4,800 square-foot home. The original asphalt roof lasted only about 20 years: far less than the estimated lifespan the new metal roof, which will perform reliably and look great for 50-plus years.
Metal also will provide much better protection from the threat of wildfires, and require only minimal maintenance for years to come.
Along with metal roofing installer Mountaintop Metal Roofing, metal material used for this award-winning project included shingles made by The Aluminum Shingle Company and standing seam panels made by Taylor Metal.
"This is a very impressive re-roofing job, especially given the size, pitch and number of roof planes on the home. It also demonstrates that by using expert installation methods and top quality metal products, a home can achieve a customized look and
outstanding curb appeal that is designed to look amazing for many decades to come,” said Renee Ramey, MRA executive director.
With this phase of the competition now closed, the search is on for MRA’s Best Residential Metal Roofing project for the third quarter of 2024. Open to U.S. and Canada homeowners, contractors, installers and manufacturers, MRA officials will select
one outstanding metal roofing project based on project appearance, performance and originality/use of materials. Interested participants may upload their project photo along with a 200-word-or-less description for why their metal roofing project is
worthy of top honors online at metalroofing.com. MRA Contest Entry Link: https://woobox.com/5hpisu.
