Armored Coast™ Enhances Coastal Roofing With New 26-Gauge Option

ELM-26-gauge

Whiting, IN — Armored Coast™, a leading provider of superior coastal roofing solutions, and the first steel coastal roofing solution, is thrilled to announce the launch of its innovative 26-gauge ZAM® coated steel roofing product. Distributed exclusively by East Lake Metals, this new addition offers enhanced benefits over the traditional 24-gauge option, especially for coastal regions where extreme weather conditions are a constant challenge.

The 26-gauge steel, known for being lighter and easier to handle, provides significant advantages in installation and transportation without compromising on strength and durability. This lighter material reduces shipping costs and simplifies the installation process, making it a cost-effective solution for builders and homeowners alike.

Architects and builders increasingly choose 26-gauge steel to envelop building exteriors due to its optimal balance of durability, cost-efficiency, and ease of installation. Armored Coast's™ 26-gauge ZAM® coated steel is an excellent choice for commercial buildings, shopping centers, storage parks, and carports. The lighter weight of 26-gauge steel simplifies handling and installation while also getting more coverage for the same amount of metal.  Metal is popping up on the roofs and walls in both residential and commercial spaces and East Lake Metals wanted to meet the regional admiration of 26-gauge and pair it with Armored Coast's™ proven properties.

The new 26-gauge version is set to gain popularity in areas with high demand for resilient roofing solutions. Coastal regions across the United States, known for their exposure to salt spray, high winds, and continuous moisture, will greatly benefit from this new offering. The superior corrosion resistance and cut-edge protection of ZAM® coated steel, composed of zinc, aluminum, and magnesium, make it an ideal choice for these harsh environments.

“We are excited to offer the 26-gauge Armored CoastTM roofing solution,” said Kenneth Krawcheck Sr., of East Lake Metals. “This product not only provides the same exceptional performance as our 24-gauge option but also offers the added benefits of being lighter and easier to install. The southeast is a 26-gauge market, and this will be a game-changer for coastal construction projects.”

Armored Coast's™ ZAM® coated steel is specifically designed to withstand the harshest coastal conditions, providing superior long-term protection against corrosion. The product comes with a robust 20-year substrate warranty and a 40-year paint finish warranty, covering installations 300 feet from breaking surf or directly adjacent to bodies of water like lakes and canals. Neither the 24-gauge or 26-gauge version will not be warrantied if installed using exposed fasteners. Additionally, approvals have been granted for the use of silicone-modified polyester (SMP) paints upon request, which will also be covered by the same substrate warranty and their individual paint company’s warranty.
